![]() I also love how heroes who cannot afford a Hood/Pipe can have a solution for magic damage and heroes who want to go invisible don't always have to go for Shadow Blade/Silver Edgy and can also grant this gift for others. It is great for the occasional clutch plays and it is a really handy item if you want to help your cores or sometimes even save yourself. _ Īll of that being said, it is a great item and I am happy it exists. I want to burn and thaw enemies or make myself tanky/mobile, not help anybody (it is only a side-factor). I especially die on the inside every time I cave in and buy this item on Jakiro (23 times thus far, 47,83% winrate). I still do buy it on just about every support hero I play every now and then. For other heroes, I loathe the concept due to it spending gold and an item slot that I would rather use on something that allows me to contribute more into killing enemies or making myself tankier (which this also does, somewhat). Of the heroes I regularly play, Dazzle, Omni (when I am on a Messiah-ish mood and ignore every bit of self-interest for the sake of others), Witch Doctor and CM (due to benefiting their ulties) are the only ones I like buying this as. I have such a love-and-hate relationship with this item, it is kinda funny. I wouldn't riot if it were removed, but I dig it existing. It is just like the Blink Dagger range thing, a teeny little mechanic that rewards skill and patience over hesitation. Unlike some others here, I actually like the mechanic of moving closer to the target if it is cast outside of its max range. Has the Subsume passive ability - When within 1200 range of Doom allows Balthazaar to absorb all hero damage sources to Doom until he expires or reaches the cap (before reductions, 1500/3000/4500.) I'm sure the dev team can come up with much better ideas than that too. Or remove Break completely and add a new ability (ex: Balthazaar - conjures up a powerful demon slave with X attack and Y move speed. Maybe rework the ult so the proximity timer is part of his base ult, and keep the Break + something new to Aghs (increased cast range? Cast point? Applies current level of scorched earth AoE damage on target minus heals and move speed?) Outside of reversions, IceToad could definitely pull out something new. If it scaled with levels, like 145/120/95 that might be good and incentivize more core dooms which hasnt been a thing for a while. Its also a bit longer than WK's level 2 ult. His ult cooldown also went from 100s to 145 which is a huge jump, if you look at it as going from 1 minute 40 seconds to 2 minutes 25 seconds it might better illustrate how long that is. That said, I do believe there is an effort to making most of the new hero and reworked skills actives which makes Break less important, but hey current Doom disables those too. If Doom regained Break on his vanilla ult that alone would probably be huge enough to make him a stable pick, since the only other options are Silver Edge (which can be inconvenient to get off on the right target at the right time in full blown fights) and Shadow Demon Aghs.
